Finding the best vacation home experience:

Find your best deal:

  • Summer months are high season in Corolla. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Currituck area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby shops and restaurants.

Make a plan and choose the bestvacation home:

  • Select your vacation week and spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Gorgeous Semi-Oceanfront Home in Whalehead has 12 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you book the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Tips to have a terrific stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. text the host right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to stimulate future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
