Tricks and tips to get the best Corolla rental home experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Reserve your rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Currituck area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- To start, have your group select dates and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Gorgeous Semi-Oceanfront Home in Whalehead has 12 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
More considerations for your visit:
- We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. E-mail the rental manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
