Tricks and tips for getting the best vacation home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Corolla. To get the best value, consider changing your family's Currituck vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Selecting and booking the right Currituck rental home:

  • Choose your dates and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Private pool, Gorgeous! Oceanfront, Dogs, C5059 has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the property manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many problems.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
