Booking the best Currituck rental home experience:
How to get the best value:
- Summer is high season in Corolla. To get the best value, consider changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Currituck area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select your vacation week and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Blue Skies: Private Pool, Spa, Game Room has 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is best for your vacation.
- Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your group is bringing pets, search for a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Note any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
