Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Corolla rental home experience:
When to book a Currituck rental & When to go:
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Book your rental property in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitor guides that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your search:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Saltwater in the Afternoon: 400 Ft to Beach, Private Pool, Dog-friendly has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. If not, call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
- Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
During your stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many issues.
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the property manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to drive new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
