Our top Rental property booking tips:
When to visit & When to reserve a Currituck rental home:
- The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Corolla. To find the largest rental home within budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Currituck attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Currituck visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local tours and attractions.
How to choose the best rental home in Corolla:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Blue Bomber: Oceanside, Pool\/Hot Tub, Dogs Ok has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Currituck destination you long to visit, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
During your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many issues.
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect your property!
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. message the host right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
