Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Currituck rental home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Book your vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Currituck visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Finding the perfect vacation home:
- Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 1418 - Windswept: Spacious 4-bed home in Corolla, NC, private pool. has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.

- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
More considerations:
- Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.

- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective.
