Rental home booking tips and tricks:

Sticking to a rental home budget:

  • Book your Currituck vacation home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Currituck area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Select dates and max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. 1418 - Windswept: Spacious 4-bed home in Corolla, NC, private pool. has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or applied to your agreement.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
