Tricks and tips to get the optimal Currituck rental home experience:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer months are high season in Corolla. Booking in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Currituck visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.

Choosing the perfect rental in the Currituck area:

  • Choose your vacation week and budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Audubon Oasis: Soundfront Home, Dog-friendly, New to Rental Program has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you book the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a certain Currituck attraction you love, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to drive more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
