Our top Corolla rental home booking tips:

When to reserve a Currituck rental & When to go:

  • Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • In the Currituck area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby tours and attractions.

Selecting the best vacation home:

  • Choose vacation week and spending budget.
  • Oceanfront
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is right for your trip.
  • Does your group require special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the host immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
