Corolla vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking your Currituck vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
- In the Currituck area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Currituck area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have coupons for local accommodations and attractions.
Choosing the perfect rental home:
- Select vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Lighthouse Views, Beach Parking Pass, No Cleaning Fees, & Pets Stay Free has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you book the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
Advice for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the host immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a great stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
