Our top Corolla vacation rental tips:

When to visit & When to book:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Currituck area. To book the most suitable rental home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • In the Currituck area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Currituck area visitors guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Make a plan and pick yourvacation home:

  • Start by selecting your a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Protect & Surf! Beach side ocean views with private pool. has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the host before booking your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • If there's a certain Currituck destination you simply love, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Contact the host immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to stimulate new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
