Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in Corolla. To get the best vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Currituck restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Currituck visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning, picking, and booking the right Currituck rental:
- Choose your dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. PRIVACY! PRIVACY! ONE OF THE BEST PRICED HOMES IN WHALEHEAD BEACH. has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before reserving the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if there is a dispute.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
