Mid-level: On the middle level there is one king bedroom with an attached bathroom, one queen bedroom, and one pyramid bunk room with a shared bathroom. There is a den on this floor with a sleeper couch and TV. A enormous covered deck with a hot tub sits just outside.

Top Level: The upper level has a completely supplied kitchen with brand new appliances and a cavernous living room for everybody to savor their evenings together, as well as a dining area with plenty of seating for the whole family to appreciate all of their meals together around the table. This level has another king bedroom with an attached bath. Both the bedroom and living area access a screened porch with prime sound vistas and a sizable dining table. The adjoining open deck accepts for even more space to enjoy time outdoors.

Ship's watch: A few steps up from level 3 is a bright and airy ship's watch with great spots for reading and calming.

Just a short walk or bicycle ride away are multiple of Corolla's best attractions. Stroll through Historic Corolla Park with its museums, Whalehead Mansion, and the Currituck Beach Lighthouse. The Currituck Banks Reserve provides unique nature trails through canopies of live oaks and a walkway out to the sound. Feel what the Northern Outer Banks has to offer!

Find your perfect rental home:

  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Summertime is high season in Corolla. To find the best value, consider changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Start by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Sound Views, Hot Tub, Village at Ocean Hill, Community Pools has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property manager before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges applied to your contract.
  • If there's an individual Currituck destination you are crazy about, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of issues.
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
