Our top Rental home booking tips:

Money saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Corolla. To find the best value, try changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many management companies supply Currituck area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your search:

  • First, have your group choose the best dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Sailors Rest
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you book your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • If there's a particular Currituck attraction you long to visit, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the host's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, record any problem areas during check in. Call the host right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a excellent stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
