Getting the best Currituck rental experience:
Finding your best deal:
- The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are high season in Corolla. Booking in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many rental management companies supply Currituck area visitor guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you book your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your family.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or might be applied to your invoice.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.

- Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- At Check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to propel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
