Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Currituck rental experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- To book the best rental home within budget, we suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Currituck area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for nearby shops and restaurants.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Start by choosing a vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Oceanside Corolla home w\/ saltwater pool, hot tub, and elevator! has 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before booking your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation group.
- Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- If your family is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your visit, record any problem areas during check in. text the rental manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
