Getting the best Corolla rental experience:

Getting the best rental value:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. Reserve your vacation in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies supply Currituck area visitor guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose the perfect vacation home:

  • Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Gourmet Kitchen has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
