All Outer Banks Blue properties provide bed linens and bath towels for a modest fee added to every reservation. We provide 1 bath towel and washcloth per advertised occupant. We provide 1 hand towel and 1 bar of soap per bathroom sink. We also provide kitchen towels. Beds are made prior to your arrival, and we provide a starter supply of toilet paper, bathroom soap, paper towels, and dishwasher detergent.

Tips to get the perfect Corolla vacation property experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To book the largest rental for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Currituck restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Currituck visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
  • Private Pool, Hot Tub
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before booking the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or may be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a specific Currituck attraction you love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking

Know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many problems.
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
