Tips to get the best Currituck rental experience:
Find your best deal:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To get the best value, consider shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Select your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Oceanside, Private Pool, Hot Tub, WC1065, A Beachin Good Time has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
More considerations:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Call the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
