Tricks and tips for getting the best Currituck vacation property experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To book the best vacation home for your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Currituck restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing the perfect rental in Corolla:

  • Begin by selecting your trip dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Tee To Shining Sea: Ocean, sound and golf views from this Corolla retreat! has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available online. If not, contact the property owner before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what is optimal for your trip.
  • If there's a particular Currituck beach you simply love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.

During your stay:

  • We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. message the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few issues.
  • Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
