Additional information:
Pool will typically be open from April 1st through November 1st.
Pool heater will be available for a $200 fee per week. Use of the pool heater must be requested at least 48 hours in advance. Please note that the pool heater will not operate if the surrounding air temperature is less than 55 degrees (if the temperature drops below 55 degrees the heater will be shut off).
Hot tub will be open throughout the year.
Check in and check out will be on Saturday in season.
In season reservations must be for a minimum of 7 days.
Off season reservations must be for a minimum of 3 days with flexible check in and check out.
Check in is at 4 PM and check out is at 10 AM.
Persons making reservations must be 21 years of ago or older and must be present for the duration of the reservation.

Strategies to get the best vacation home experience:

Sticking to a spending budget:

• June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To get the largest rental home within your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Currituck restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
• The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
• Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
• Property managers typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
• Look for your local Currituck area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

• Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your family.
• Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
• Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
• Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

• Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
• Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
• Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
• Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
• Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
• Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
• Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
• Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
• Did you have a fantastic stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
