Tips and Tricks for getting the best Corolla vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- To book the largest rental for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area travel guides that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing the best rental home in the Currituck area:
- Select a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Oceanside In Corolla w\/ Private Pool, Hot Tub, & Rec Room - Dog-Friendly has 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available online. If they are not listed, call the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a particular Currituck beach you are crazy about, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
