Corolla rental property booking tips:
When to visit & When to book:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Corolla. Book your Currituck vacation in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Currituck visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Make a plan and choose a perfectvacation home:
- Start by choosing the best vacation week and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. It's About Time: Private Hot Tub, Community Pool, Flexible Stays has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- At Check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few issues.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
