How to spend your vacation at Carolina State of Mind: Watch the sunrise over breakfast from one of the huge rear decks. Stroll out the back gate and a few steps to the beach or stay home and savor the private pool area complete with a new hot tub and tiki bar. Play a game of volleyball, badminton, or bocce on the lawn, or make one of the upper decks your own box seat to watch a friendly tennis match on the community court adjacent to your backyard. On the front porches, take a late-day siesta, watch a round of HORSE at the driveway basketball hoop, or catch a spectacular sunset. If you must catch up on a little work online or want to shop or keep up with the friends and family, the internet is high speed (up to 100-140 Mbps) and reliable with strong WiFi signal throughout the entire property. At nighttime, appreciate a calming swim in the multi-colored lighted pool, make s’mores around the backyard fire pit, challenge the kids to a Foosball tournament or shoot some pool. Need a soundtrack? Feel complimentary to stream your playlist throughout the home, back decks, pool, hot tub and tiki bar. If your energy levels are a little low from a day at the beautiful Corolla beaches or the championship golf course, just relax with your favorite book or snag the remote to one of the 11 flat screen TVs featuring 290 Dish TV channels as well as HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, and Starz. Every TV is attached to a DVR and parental controls are painless to program so the kids lay claim to the media room or rec room while the grown-ups play cards or catch up on life on the upper level. This home really has something for ages 1-100! Household amenities include an outdoor shower and ½ bath conveniently accessible directly from the pool deck, yard and gate to the beach walk. There are full sized fridges in the tiki bar, the lower game room and the kitchen, as well as two dedicated drink fridges on the main level and a third in the media room. In addition to the ice from the refrigerator freezers, there is a dedicated ice maker in the media room bar and two dishwashers. The well-appointed kitchen has everything you need for your family meals. There’s counter seating for 5, a enormous dining table that generously seats 8 and an additional table that seats 4. A laundry room with 2 washers and 2 dryers lets you pack less and return home without dirty laundry. Carolina State of Mind is over 5,400 square feet and has over 2,500 square feet of decks and porches. It is located adjacent to the southern beach access for Currituck County and is the only home on this dead-end street! In fact, when you turn onto Yaupon from Route 12, you will be confronted with a sign that prohibits cars. The only traffic allowed on Yaupon are guests staying at Carolina State of Mind and trolleys from the Currituck Club bringing guests to the beach access. A stockade fence and hedgerow make it very private yet is in the very epicenter of all that Corolla has to offer. When you return home from your vacation and tell your friends and coworkers that you were basically alone in a secluded getaway, they will just shake their heads and assume you got too much sun…you will just smile and start counting the weeks down to next year’s trip. Bed and bath linens and bed-making are supplied. The private pool is roughly 13x29 and may be heated for $500/week. This property is pet-friendly. There is an additional charge for guests bringing family pets, which will be added and collected after booking. Pet costs range from $161-231 depending on the property, and will be assessed state and local taxes. This home includes credit for $315 in beach gear units from our partners at VayK Life. Stay between April 4th and October 19th, 2025 (7-nighttime minimum), and use your beach gear credit for items such as bicycles, beach chairs, umbrellas, paddleboards, and more! Layout: Lower Level: Recreation room with pool and Foosball tables, pub chairs, refrigerator, sink, microwave and TV. Strategically it is important because the stereo receiver located in the cabinet here controls the source for the music at the pool, hot tub and tiki bar. Bedrooms on the lower level include two en suites with private baths — one with 2 twins and one with 1 king (the second bedroom with an simple entry threshold shower, assistance bars, a seat and a handheld shower head) – along with a final bedroom with a set of bunk beds, a pyramid bunk and a trundle (resulting in four single beds and one full bed in this bedroom) and a full hall bath just across the hall with a double vanity. All three bedrooms have direct access to the pool deck and are equipped with pool door safety alarms. Mid Level: 4 en suites —3 kings and 1 queen, all with tiled baths and direct access to a front or rear deck. The first king suite includes a sitting area. The second king suite has a double vanity and is one of two bedrooms with a disabled accessible shower complete with assistance bars and low threshold entry. In the center of the second floor across from the elevator, double doors open to a media room with a sizable TV, bar, modest refrigerator, ice maker and microwave. Top Level: Living area, dining area, and kitchen, king en suite designed to be a haven of relaxation with a comfortable sitting area and a extravagant bath with tiled shower, soaking tub and a double sink vanity. Its sliding doors open to the third-floor rear deck with ocean vistas, also on this level is a half bath with the elevator off the living area.

Finding the best Corolla rental home experience:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • Summer is high season in the Currituck area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area travel guides which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting and booking the perfect Currituck vacation home:

  • Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Gorgeous oceanside retreat with an elevator in Corolla NC! has 8 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rentals search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. If not, email the property manager before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's a particular Currituck destination you simply love, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or might be applied to your invoice.

During your stay:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
