Tips and Tricks to get the best rental experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Currituck rental home:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To find the best value, consider changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Selecting the best rental in Corolla:

  • Choose your vacation week and budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. A Shore Pleasure: 3 story deck with awesome views, your own private pool and hot has 8 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property manager before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More tips for your visit:

  • We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. message the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
