How to get the best Currituck rental experience:

Getting the most from your budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Currituck area. Book your rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area travel guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to select the perfect vacation home in Corolla:

  • Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Classic Corolla beach house near beaches and shopping has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your vacation group.
  • If there's an individual Currituck beach you crave, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the property manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
