Hook, Wine, and Stinkers is the ultimate vacation spot in the much sought-after community of Corolla Light. This home leaves little doubt why some Corolla visitors ONLY stay in Corolla. What's not to adore? Maybe it is the short walk (no car needed) to some of the very best eateries on the Northern Beaches. Perhaps it is because you can walk to the coffee shop or maybe head over to play a round of miniature golf or even the ice cream shop without ever getting in a car! Guests of Corolla Light rave about the resort pools and beach accesses throughout the huge community. Corolla Light can be considered a cruise ship on land, boasting the second-biggest exercise facility on the Outer Banks and many community activities in the summer. This handsome home checks all of the boxes for the ideal summer vacation! The closest beach access to Hook, Wine, and Stinkers is roughly 1300 ft (a fast walk). Additionally, in the game room, there is a sizable intelligent TV and plenty of seating for movie/game nights. Located at the end of a cul-de-sac, there is less through traffic than on the main roads in Corolla Light.

Whether it's spending the day climbing up the Currituck Light House, visiting the historic Whalehead Club, mastering Corolla's Adventure Park, calming by the private pool, or spending the day in the sand, Hook, Wine, and Stinkers has you covered! Take the trolley or walk the short distance to wide and clean beaches with a gradual drop-off that creates broad areas for safe and fun ocean recreation. Oftentimes referred to as a "Cruiseship on Land", Corolla Light is more than just a community, offering activities for the whole family including 10 tennis courts and the second-biggest exercise center on the Outer Banks. Currituck rental home booking tips:

Finding your perfect vacation home:

  • Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • In the Currituck area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing the perfect vacation rental in the Currituck area:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. C1131 Corolla Light Amenities! Heated Pool! Hot tub! Walk to restaurants! has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. If not, call the property management company before booking your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's a particular Currituck attraction you love, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.

Tips for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • During arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many problems.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
