With a variety of close by community amenities, shopping and dining within walking distance, and even trolley service to the beach, you can literally park your car in the driveway and leave it there during your entire stay if you choose. After a day of sun, sand and surf, the outdoor fun can continue back at the home with your very own private pool and hot tub. Inside, relax in the open-concept great room that features soaring, two-story ceilings and a wall of south-facing windows for ample natural light. The gas fireplace can be used during the off-season for staying comfortable on cooler Spring and Fall evenings. The living area leads out to a appealing screened porch overlooking the secluded backyard surrounded by mature trees. When you're not dining out, prepare meals in the kitchen with bespoke, retro-inspired appliances by Big Chill. Ceramic tile runs throughout the entire main level, ideal for sandy feet and paws returning from the beach. All three bedrooms are conveniently located together on the top level. The roomy primary suite provides access to a private sun deck and ensuite bath with dual vanities and a jetted tub.
Blue Crab Cottage is conveniently located near the community's south entrance, just a four-min. walk to the South Beach Pool and Tennis Center. Shopping and dining are also within walking distance, including Metropolis Tapas Restaurant, Bacchus Wine & Gourmet Shop and Driftwood Coffee Company - all located just outside the gate. Other Currituck Club amenities include shuffleboard, volleyball, basketball and a exercise center. Golf enthusiasts can book a tee-time or clinic at the world-class 18-hole championship course designed by Rees Jones.

How to find the best vacation rental experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in Corolla. Booking in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many property management companies supply Currituck area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing the perfect rental in Corolla:
- Begin by selecting vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Blue Crab Cottage: Private Pool, Hot Tub, Dogs OK has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible online. Otherwise, call the property owner before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
More tips for your stay:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
