Our top Vacation rental tips:

How to get the best value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the best value, change your family's Currituck vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many management companies supply Currituck area visitors guide magazines that include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing the best vacation rental in Corolla:

  • Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Amazing location! - 200 yards to Beach, Close to Whalehead Club has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • If there's an individual Currituck destination you simply love, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or applied to your agreement.

Advice for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great time? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
