Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Currituck vacation home experience:
When to reserve a Currituck rental home & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Reserve your rental in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- In the Currituck area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Currituck visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have discounts for nearby shops and restaurants.
Planning and choosing the best Currituck vacation home:
- First, have your group commit to dates and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Two Easy: Private Pool, Spa, Golf Discounts has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- If there's a certain Currituck beach you long to visit, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the host's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Call the rental manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
