Tips for getting the perfect Currituck vacation home experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Corolla. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- In the Currituck area, The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies supply Currituck area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking the right Currituck rental home:
- Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. The Good Stuff: Oceanside, Private Pool, Two Hot Tubs, Easy walk to Beach! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you book your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or may be applied to your contract.
Know before you go:
- Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to inspire future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
