Our top Rental booking tips and tricks:
How to get the best rental value:
- Book your Currituck rental in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Finding the best rental in Corolla:
- Start by selecting your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Sounds Like Fun: Soundfront, Private Pool, Hot Tub has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is right for your trip.
- If there's a certain Currituck attraction you are enamored with, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
