Finding the best Currituck vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is a great way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Some hosts offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing and booking your Currituck rental:
- Choose vacation week and max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Semi-oceanfront home on the 4x4 beaches with gorgeous views! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your trip.
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
- If there's a particular Currituck beach you are crazy about, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Advice for your stay:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Contact the property manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
