Tips to get the perfect Currituck rental experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Currituck rental home:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Currituck area. To find the best value, try shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Many management companies supply Currituck area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and choose the best Currituck rental home:
- Choose your vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Ocean-side home with solar-heated pool & hot tub - dog-friendly has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you book your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Currituck beach you are crazy about, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
During your stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many issues.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Upon check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
