Strategies to get the optimal vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies supply Currituck area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the best vacation rental in Corolla:
- Begin by choosing a vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Mi Casa Bella - Ocean: Pool
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. If they are not listed, call the property management company before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
