How to book the best rental home experience:
Get the best rental value:
- The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- June, July, and August are high season in Corolla. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Currituck visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Make a plan and choose your prefect Currituck rental home:
- Choose a group leader, select your dates, and select a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Lakefront, 5bed\/4bath, private pool, hot tub, bikes! has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
Additional considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the host right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
