Finding the best Currituck vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- To book the best vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitors guides that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to select the perfect vacation rental:
- Select dates and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 1414 - Hope Sanctuary: Spacious 5-bed 4-bath home in Corolla, NC, with private pool. has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property owner before you book the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a specific Currituck beach you are enamored with, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Upon arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
