Tricks and tips to get the very best Currituck vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- In the Currituck area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To book the best vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Currituck visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guides have offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Planning, selecting, and booking your prefect Currituck vacation home:
- To start, have your family choose trip dates and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. CB11*4bedrm*Hot tub*Fire Pit*Foosball*Comm Pool has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. Otherwise, call the property owner before booking the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your group.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs could be applied to your contract.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
Tips to have a great stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- During check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to propel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective.
