Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Corolla vacation rental experience:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Currituck visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have coupons for nearby tours and attractions.
How to pick the best vacation home in Corolla:
- To start, have your family choose dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Oceanside, Ocean View, Pets Welcome, Wild Horses! 4x1620, Sunshine Day has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property owner before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation family.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges applied to your contract.
Some things to know before you go:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the property manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many problems.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
