Strategies to get the optimal vacation rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summertime is high season in Corolla. To find the largest rental within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Currituck visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Filter your search:

  • Choose vacation week and budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Salty Anchor oceanfront sunrise Carova4WD only! Pets not allowed! has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly available online. If not, call the property manager before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. text the rental manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your life at home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to inspire more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
