Our top Corolla rental home booking tips:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Currituck area. Book your vacation home in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies supply Currituck area visitor guides which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your search:
- Begin by choosing a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Rest-A-Shore: Ocean View, Heated Pool, Hot Tub, Rec Room w\/ Pool Table has 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your group.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to compel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
