TJ's Beach Bungalow is your dog-friendly and family-friendly getaway located on the oceanside in Corolla Bay. This handsome coastal-themed home has everything you will need for a fun and memory-filled Outer Banks vacation. The Corolla beaches are just a short walk away where you can appreciate the day basking in the sun, strolling the beaches searching for seashells and seaglass, swimming, and surfing. You and your dogs can savor your own fenced in backyard getaway with a private pool (pool heat can be added for an additional fee.) and hot tub in the evening after your fun-filled day at the beach.

The top-level great room has the ideal space to watch TV, prepare your favorite meals in the well-equipped kitchen and dine with everybody while you reflect on your day's adventures. For the rainy days, the lower level rec room offers a comfortable place to watch your favorite sports or movies plus a wet bar with a mini-refrigerator and microwave so snacks can effortlessly be on hand.

When you're ready to retire for the evening, the mid-level offers a king en-suite bedroom with a private deck, and a queen and pyramid bunk room and the lower level has two twins, so everybody can find their favorite spot to rest and rejuvenate. The elevator with access to all levels will make bringing in groceries and suitcases a breeze.

Exploring the area: Corolla Bay community offers sidewalks, a swimming pool, a bathhouse, shuffleboard, horseshoes, playground and picnic areas. Located in the heart of Corolla you are within driving distance of the Currituck Beach Lighthouse, Historic Corolla Park and Corolla Village, and the four-wheel drive beaches as well as many local eateries, stores, and other outdoor activities.

Beach Access: Head right out of the Corolla Bay neighborhood onto Herring Street. The raised access walkway is at the end of the street and provides painless access to beach!

No Smoking/Vaping. Dog Friendly. Dogs Accepted for an Additional Fee. Private pools open Easter through Columbus Day.

Heated pools are available Week Prior to Easter through Memorial Day and Labor Day Week through Mid-October.
Pools are set at a comfortable 78-80 degrees during the heated season. Please note that for optimal performance, outside temperatures must remain around 60 degrees or warmer. Various weather conditions such as wind speed and direction can affect the heat performance.

All reservations are offered to purchase travel insurance for an additional 7.75% of your rent and taxes. Please refer to the rental agreement you will be signing to accept or decline this coverage as your refund in the time of cancellation will be dependent on your acceptance in most situations. All guests must sign and return a rental agreement before reservations are confirmed. Payment for travel insurance, if accepted, will be processed upon receipt of this signed agreement.

Standard cancellation policy is: CANCELLATION POLICY and SUBSTITUTIONS - Any changes, including changing dates, switching of properties, or complete cancellations will invoke the cancellation policy. Agent recommends all Renters purchase travel insurance offered at time of booking to protect them in the event of an unexpected event affecting their vacation. Agent cannot offer future credits or immediate refunds for unexpected cancellations due to emergencies regardless of the situation, including but not limited to weather events and acts of God, unexpected illnesses, injury or death, changing of plans, or job loss. Please do not ask. All cancellations are subject to a fifty dollar ($50.00) cancellation fee. Cancellations must be submitted to Agent in writing (e-mail is acceptable). In the event of cancellation, no refund of monies paid will be made unless the Property is re-rented for the same price and time period of this original vacation rental agreement. If the Property is re-rented for a lesser price or time period, the original Tenant will receive a refund for the difference between the originally agreed upon rental amount and the rebooked rental amount as Owner is entitled to receive the full amount of the original rental agreement. Agent will make every effort to re-rent the Property at the full amount. Tenant acknowledges that Agent has full discretion on negotiating rental prices in an effort to get the Property re-rented and make the Owner whole, while also attempting to get the Tenant the highest refund possible.

Located near the beach, this vacation home is in Whalehead Beach, a neighborhood in Corolla. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Outer Banks Beaches and Corolla Beach. Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education and Corolla Adventure Golf and Bumper Cars are also worth visiting. Money saving strategies:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. Reserve your rental home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses.   • Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective.
