Our top Rental home booking tips:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal NC. Booking your Currituck vacation home in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning, selecting, and booking the bestrental:
- Begin by selecting a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Tiki Bar has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you book the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Upon check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
