How to get the best value:
- Summer months are high season in the Currituck area. To book the best rental within budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Currituck restaurants, tours, and activities.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Currituck area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Start by having your family choose a vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Heaven On Seven: Private Pool, Spa, Putting Green has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before reserving the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.

- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the property manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Remember to be objective.
