Our top Corolla vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
Getting the best rental home value:
- Reserve your rental home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Some property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitors guides which will include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by selecting your vacation dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Bright and beautiful beach house in Corolla Bay, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property management company before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are assessed.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
