Vacation rental booking tips:
Cost saving strategies:
- To get the most suitable rental for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your search:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Newly built Contemporary\nCoastal Villa has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property management company before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges may be applied to your contract.
Considerations for your stay:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the host right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many problems.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to propel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
