Finding the best Currituck rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the largest rental home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Currituck attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area travel guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and select a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Ace By The Beach: Pool Access
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. If not, contact the property management company before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
During your stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to drive new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
