Tips and Tricks for getting the best Corolla vacation home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Corolla. To book the best rental within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
  • Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Make a plan and choose a perfectrental:

  • Start by choosing vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. A few step to the beach/Private Pool/Spa/Linens/Beds made/office/Wifi/much more has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property manager before booking the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a particular Currituck attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the host immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
