Tips and Tricks to get the perfect rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in Corolla. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Currituck area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
How to choose the perfect rental home in Corolla:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 5 Bedroom with views of the Currituck Sound & award winning resort amenities! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
More tips for your stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- To make certain no damages are linked to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Contact the property manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
