Strategies to get the optimal Currituck rental experience:
When to visit Carova & When to book:
- Booking your vacation rental in Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Currituck vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area travel guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the best vacation home:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Gorgeous vacation rental in the secluded area of Carova NC! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Currituck rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation.
- If there's a certain Currituck attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
Advice for a great stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Upon arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a great time? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
