Strategies to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Currituck area. Reserve your rental property in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- In the Currituck area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Currituck area visitor guides which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Currituck visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Finding the perfect rental home in Corolla:
- Select your vacation dates and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Pool Cabana w\/TV, Elevator, Dogs Allowed, Wheelchair Accessible, View has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the host before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what is optimal for your vacation.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Contact the property manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a great stay? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
